When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
Isaiah 43:2
This promise is one of comfort and assurance from God to the people of Israel. God is telling them that even when the going gets tough and they are facing hardship and struggles, He will be with them. He will provide them with the strength and courage to get through any difficult situation, and they will not be overwhelmed by the waters they pass through. This is a reminder of God’s faithfulness and a reminder that He will never abandon His people!
