Joy of the Redeemed
The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the Lord,
the splendor of our God.
Isaiah 35:1-2
This passage is a prophecy of the coming of God’s salvation and redemption in which the desert and the parched land will be transformed into a place of joy and beauty. It is speaking of the restoration and renewal that God will bring to the land, and the people of Israel, after a period of suffering and desolation. It is a message of hope and promise that God’s power and glory will shine upon the land and its inhabitants, bringing joy and prosperity.
