It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:7
This verse describes four characteristics of love: endurance, trust, hope, and perseverance.
When it says that love “always protects,” it means that love can withstand and endure anything that comes its way. Love doesn’t give up or falter in the face of difficulty.
The phrase “always trusts” means that love trusts and has faith in others. It is not suspicious or cynical but rather assumes the best in people.
“always hopes” means that love has a positive outlook and looks for the good in situations. It doesn’t dwell on negative circumstances but rather looks for ways to improve them.
Finally, “always perseveres” means that love is patient and perseveres even in challenging situations. It doesn’t give up or quit, but rather stays the course and remains steadfast.
Taken together, these four characteristics of love are a powerful reminder of the importance of love in our lives. They encourage us to be patient, trusting, hopeful, and enduring, even in difficult times.
